More than 86 million people have immigrated to the United States between 1783 and 2019, and many more have immigrated since. Fleeing crop failure, land and job shortages, rising taxes, and famine, many came to the U. S. because it was perceived as the land of economic opportunity. Others came seeking personal freedom or relief from political and religious persecution.
Although immigrants often settled near ports of entry, a large number did find their way inland. Many states, especially those with sparse populations, actively sought to attract immigrants by offering jobs or land for farming. The work of a genealogist is to help local families discover their history: where their family came from, where they settled, who they married and if they had children, as well as fun intricacies of their lives in early American history.

England's long and rich history makes it fertile ground for intimate family research. My grandmother immigrated from England to the Unites States on the Lusitania in 1911. Fifteen years ago, my father gave me a box of historical records and photos from her passing, which sparked a fire in my heart for family research. I have been to England specifically three times in search of answers to my own Research Questions.
I am still very well versed and connected to English historical records. If you have a question specific to England, continue below to fill out an interest form! I'd love to help you answer your most pressing questions and give your family history a breath of new life.
